Privacy Policy
What information is collected, why, and what you can ask to be done with it.
Last updated: 23 August 2026
This document is a starting template. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and does not constitute legal advice. It must be reviewed and adapted before Onyx Development relies on it.
What is collected
When you submit an enquiry or contact form, the information you enter is collected: your name, email address, and anything else you choose to provide such as a phone number, business name or project details.
Basic technical information is also recorded with a submission — the approximate origin of the request and how you arrived at the site — so enquiries can be attributed and abuse can be limited.
Why it is collected
To reply to your enquiry, to prepare quotes and proposals, to deliver work you have engaged Onyx Development to do, and to keep records of that work.
Information is collected for these stated purposes only. It is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties except the service providers needed to operate the business — for example email delivery, payment processing and hosting.
Marketing
Marketing emails are only sent if you explicitly opt in. That choice is recorded with a timestamp. Opting in is never pre-selected, and you can withdraw at any time using the link in any such email or by asking directly.
Transactional messages about work in progress — quotes, invoices, project updates — are separate and are sent because you are a client, not because you subscribed.
Retention
Enquiry information is kept while it may still be relevant to a possible engagement. Client and billing records are kept as long as required for business and tax purposes.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal obligation to retain it.
Requests are handled through the contact details on this site.
Security
Access to client information is restricted, files are stored in private storage rather than at public URLs, and payment card details are never received or stored by Onyx Development — card payments are handled entirely by the payment provider.
Where information is handled
Onyx Development operates from British Columbia, Canada. Some service providers used to operate the business may process information outside Canada.
